Leicester Society of Artists
Leicester Society of Artists members live, work or study in Leicestershire and Rutland. Their members represent many perspectives on art and are all practising visual artists. They are committed to sharing and developing individual and original art. They are artist-led and do not receive funding. The Society relies on the support of their members and project sponsorship. Founded in 1881, LSA Annual Exhibitions are held in the heart of Leicester at New Walk Museum & Art Gallery where you will find the latest work by their members, shown for the first time in Leicester, and the winning works of the LSA Student Award competition. From exhibitions to lectures and artists' talks, their Council of members creates their themes and installs their shows. They have twelve Council members, each elected for a three year term, and each year, four Council members are replaced, so that they benefit from both experience and new ideas. Anyone living working or studying in Leicestershire or Rutland, or with a strong connection to this area, can apply for membership of Leicester Society of Artists using the online form on their website.
